Grocery stores are increasingly sharing the burden of theft and inventory shrinkage, particulalry affecting frozen seafood, hot & cold deli, prepared meats, wines and spirits, sundries and expensive specialty foods

Since most grocery items that attract high theft are typically merchandised in coolers or freezers, security tagging such items can present a challenge. Either the labels fall off on their own soon after being applied, or would be so easy to remove that it may not be worth the time or expense to put them on in the first place.
