This product has been designed to detect the presence of alpha, beta and gamma nuclear radiation that might be present in higher doses than is acceptable by present standards.

Care has been taken to eliminate unnecessary circuitry, to ensure a product that is easy to use and understand, but is capable of making meaningful measurements that can warn of the presence of unwanted radiation.

A rotating display gives a visual sense of increase and decrease of picked up radiation. In order to test the instrument, a TEST push button switch is used to check all the segments of the rotating display, the audible alarm, the Visual alarm and the digital display. When the TEST Button is depressed, all the LEDs light up, the centre three RED LEDs flash approximately once per second and the Digital Display reads '99'.

When the TEST Button is released, the random movement of the rotating display and the few counts on the DIGITAL DISPLAY, shows that the Geiger Tube and detecting circuitry is operational.
